Muskingum assistant basketball coach Joe Puch has been apart of the staff for four years now. He is also Muskingum’s head golf coach.
Puch has been a fan of golf since he was a little boy. As he tells us in the interview his brothers were into golf and worked at a golf range which made him get into the sport. Ever since then he had a passion for golf and has been playing it and coaching it.
Golf to him is about discipline, you are playing by yourself so you can’t put the blame on others for losing or doing bad. Not many sports are so individual like golf so if you are out of your game it I
s all on you.
Coaching both basketball and golf Puch knows the importance of both working together and as an individual.
Puch has competed in many local tournaments. Such as the one hosted as Zanesville country club and other small tournaments around the area.
He loves the experience that he gets when he goes out there and compete against new people at thee local tournaments.
He also loves to go watch the big tournaments when he gets a chance to. This weekend (April 11-14) Puch is going to Augusta, Georgia to watch the Masters. He will not only be watching it but he will be spectating the golfers so he can work on his game.
Being great a sport doesn’t come from nowhere you have to get better by watching professionals and practicing.
The one golfer he is most interested to watch is Tiger Woods. He said he will take mental notes on his form and everything since that is who he tries to model his game after.
Puch always trying to improve his game; he tries new techniques and form to figure out what makes him the best golfer
he can. Coach Joe Puch is a great man who loves the sport of golf and plans to excel in all the local tournaments he plays in. His love of the sport is great and enjoys being apart of it and being able to watch it Interview with Coach Puch.
